Over the past year, Upward has facilitated placements at over 25 startups, handling a diverse range of software engineering roles. What's intriguing is that more than 90% of these positions explicitly required expertise in React, Node, or Python. These languages have not only withstood the test of time but have also solidified their positions as the driving forces behind successful web applications. Node.js offers several advantages for developers. Firstly, it has widespread adoption and is in high demand in the job market, making it a valuable skill to acquire. However, there are a few considerations when learning Python. Python's interpreted nature may result in performance limitations compared to compiled languages. While Python can be used for mobile app development, other languages are more commonly preferred for this domain. Python's focus on server-side development means it is not as commonly used for browser-side scripting. Additionally, managing version compatibility and dependencies may require attention.
